Caring for God’s Temple: A 21-Day Clean Eating Faith Challenge

Caring for God’s Temple: A 21-Day Clean Eating Faith Challenge
Good Blessed Encouraging Monday, Family & Friends and New Encouragers!
I pray this message finds you covered in God’s peace and moving through this week with a heart that wants to please Him — in your thoughts, your words, and even in the way you care for your body.
For weeks now, we’ve been talking about speaking life, guarding our words, and letting God’s truth shape what comes out of our mouths. Today, we’re connecting that same heart posture to something many of us quietly struggle with:
How we feed and care for the bodies God gave us.
Your Body Is Not an Afterthought
The Bible tells us:
“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit,
who is in you, whom you have received from God?
You are not your own; you were bought at a price.
Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
— 1 Corinthians 6:19–20
God cares about your heart, your mind, and your body.
He cares about your:
Energy
Sleep
Focus
Strength
Because all of these affect how you show up for Him and for the people you love.
This challenge is NOT about:
Chasing a certain dress size
A number on the scale
Dieting
Or anyone else’s opinions
This is about honoring God’s temple — one choice, one meal, one day at a time.
What “Clean Eating” Means for This Challenge
For this upcoming challenge, “clean eating” simply means:
Focusing on God-made foods, not man-made mixtures
Enjoying fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts, seeds, and simple whole foods
Meals that are cooked or raw — as long as they’re plant-based
Letting go (for 21 days) of sugary, fried, and processed foods that leave us tired and weighed down
You can enjoy foods like:
A bowl of grapes or cherries
Sliced apples with a handful of nuts
A baked sweet potato
A big salad, a vegetable soup, or a colorful stir-fry
You can even enjoy mono meals — one beautiful food at a time:
A big bowl of watermelon
Just oranges
Just roasted vegetables
Eat until you’re satisfied — not restricted.
This is not punishment.
This is kindness to your body.
This is worship through how you eat.
Introducing the 21-Day TempleCare Clean Eating Challenge
Dates: Monday, December 1 – Sunday, December 21
Beginning December 1, I am inviting you to join me in a 21-day faith-based clean eating journey.
During these 21 days, we will:
Focus on plant-based meals
Pay attention to how we feel — energy, sleep, mood, clarity
Pray daily:
“Lord, help me honor You in what I eat and how I care for this body You’ve given me.”
If you slip?
Don’t quit.
Don’t shame yourself.
Just talk to God, and get right back on track at your next meal.
We are not chasing perfection.
We are practicing progress, obedience, stewardship, and self-control with God.
Why 21 Days?
It’s often said that it takes about 21 days to begin forming a new habit.
And in 21 days, you may notice:
Fewer cravings
Steadier energy
Clearer thinking
A greater sense of self-control
A deeper partnership with the Holy Spirit
Remember:
“The joy of the Lord is your strength.”
— Nehemiah 8:10
As you care for your body, your joy, strength, and gratitude may grow too.
What You Can Expect From Me
During this challenge, I’ll be:
Sharing simple ideas for meals and snacks
Posting faith-based reflections to keep us anchored in Scripture
Encouraging you through reminders
Sharing short videos or photos of my meals to keep us motivated
You will never be on this journey alone.
Reflection & Prayer
This week, take a quiet moment and ask:
“Lord, how do You want me to care for this body?”
“What food choices are stealing my energy or peace?”
“What first step can I take today?”

Prayer
Heavenly Father,
thank You for creating us — body, soul, and spirit.
Thank You that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and that You care about every part of our well-being.
Lord, many of us are tired or stressed and not always feeding our bodies in ways that honor You.
We bring our habits, cravings, and weaknesses to You today.
As we prepare for this 21-day TempleCare Clean Eating Challenge, give us discipline, wisdom, and grace.
Help us see food as a gift, not a god.
Help us choose what nourishes our energy, clarity, and peace.
Strengthen those who feel discouraged in their health.
Encourage those who feel like it’s “too late.”
Remind us that as long as we have breath, it is never too late to start again.
We commit our bodies, appetites, and this upcoming challenge into Your hands.
In Jesus’ mighty name we pray,
Amen.
