👪CHILDREN’S CORNER SAFEROOM

🌈Ages 2–11 • Gentle • Joyful • Simple • God-centered

🌿A Message to Parents & Guardians

The Children’s Corner SafeRoom is a gentle, faith-centered space designed especially for young hearts. It is guided by someone with more than 31 years of real classroom experience — teaching students from kindergarten through 12th grade, including special needs, and even first-generation college students. After decades of hearing children’s real stories, supporting teens through real-life challenges, and helping families navigate school, friendships, emotions, and faith, Shawna brings the same heart of care into this Safe Room.

Every message is created to be age-appropriate, comforting, faith-centered, and grounded in genuine educational and emotional experience. While Shawna is not a licensed therapist, she is an educator who has spent her life listening, guiding, and inspiring thousands of students — and she now offers that same gentle support to your children, reminding every child that they are seen, loved, and never alone!

Welcome. Your child is safe here.

🌈This Week’s Encouraging Message — For Children

For Dec 15, 2025

Theme: “Walking in God’s Light”

✨TODAY’S VERSE:

“God is light. There is no darkness in Him.”

— 1 John 1:5

🌿TODAY’S MESSAGE FOR KIDS

🌞Tell the children:

“God’s light is like a bright flashlight that helps us see the right way.

When we stay close to Him, we feel safe, calm, and peaceful.”

Explain:

• God’s light helps us make good choices

• God’s light helps us tell the truth

• God’s light helps us feel loved

• God’s light helps us be kind

💛And if we step into darkness — maybe by doing something we shouldn’t or hiding something — Jesus still invites us back into His bright, warm light.

🥗CHILD-FRIENDLY TEMPLE CARE MOMENT:

“Did you know some foods have sneaky sugars?

They hide inside snacks and drinks and make our bodies feel tired.

But God wants our bodies healthy and strong.

So today, let’s become Food Detectives!”

🌿Teach them:

Look for “added sugar” on snacks

If there’s too much — say, “No thank you!”

Choose fruits, veggies, or clean snacks when possible.

Call it:

“Let God’s Light Help You Choose!”

🧸SIMPLE ACTIVITY: “Walking in the Light Today”

Talk with your child about what it means to walk in God’s light.

Ask them to choose one small way they can do that today:

  • Be kind to someone

  • Tell the truth

  • Make a healthy food choice

  • Pray with a thankful heart

🌞Remind them: Every good choice is a step in God’s light.

🙏🏼CLOSING PRAYER FOR CHILDREN

“Jesus, thank You for being our Light.

Help us follow You, make good choices, and take care of our bodies.

In Your Name, Jesus, Amen.”

🌈Much love for you all!!! Have a wonderful, fun, Blessed day! 💛🧸

⭐Children’s Tip Theme (Monthly Focus)

Theme Title:

🌈YOU ARE SAFE TO TELL

✨Main Truth:

If something feels scary, confusing, or hurts your body or your feelings, you can tell a grown-up you trust.

💛What This Means:

Sometimes your heart tells you, “Something isn’t right.”

That feeling is important. God gave it to you.

🌈Who Is a Safe Grown-Up?

A safe grown-up is someone who:

  • listens to you

  • helps you

  • believes you

  • wants to keep you safe

(This can be a parent, grandparent, teacher, pastor, coach, or another trusted adult.)

Important Reminder:

You are never in trouble for telling the truth.

You are never wrong for asking for help.

Faith Connection:

God cares about you and your safety.

You can talk to God and talk to a grown-up

🙏🏼A Little Prayer for You

“Dear God,

Thank You for helping me grow.

Help me be kind today, brave today, and full of joy today.

Thank You for loving me every single day.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”

🌈Want to Share Something With Me?

Do you have:

A question?

A happy moment?

Something you learned?

Something you’re proud of?

Ask a grown-up to help you send it to me:

⭐Always Remember

God made you wonderful.

God listens when you pray.

God smiles when you learn, grow, and try your best.

Come back every week for more love, learning, and encouragement! ✨🌈

🥗NUTRITIONAL INSIGHT CORNER:

Poem Title: FOOD DETECTIVE🕵🏼‍♀️

**God made your body special,

from your head down to your feet.

So be a little Food Detective

every time you eat!

Look for ‘added sugar’ —

if it’s zero, that’s the clue

that this food will help your body

do what it’s made to do.

Crunch veggies, sip water,

try fruits in every hue…

Healthy choices make you strong,

and God is proud of YOU! ** 🌈🍐

🌈WHY THE RAINBOW!

In Scripture, the rainbow is a reminder of God’s promises, faithfulness, and care.

In our SafeRoom spaces, the rainbow represents hope, protection, and the reminder that you are never alone — even on hard days.

📚Books Some Families Have Found Helpful

From time to time, parents ask about books that support faith, emotional growth, confidence, and meaningful family conversations. The titles shared here are simply optional suggestions that some families have found helpful for children.

These books are chosen with care — keeping age-appropriateness, positive messages, and opportunities for discussion in mind. Many are easy or engaging reads that can also support reading comprehension and connection between parents and children.

Encouraging Mondays is not affiliated with these books or authors, and no purchases are required. Parents are always encouraged to preview materials and prayerfully choose what best fits their child and family.
