😊GREETING
Good, Blessed, Encouraging Mondays, family, friends, and new encouragers.
I’m your host, Shawna S, and I’m so glad you’re here!
📖SCRIPTURE READING
Isaiah 43:19 (NLT):
“See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
and streams in the wasteland.”
✨DEVOTIONAL REFLECTION:
Family, as we step into this new season, God is not calling us to rush, strive, or force change.
He is inviting us to perceive what He is already doing.
January is not about pressure.
It’s about awareness.
Sometimes we think a “new thing” has to be loud or dramatic. But often, God’s new work begins quietly—in our posture, in our rhythms, and in how we listen.
This season is not about adding more to your plate.
It’s about allowing space.
God designed our bodies and our lives with wisdom—not to run nonstop, not to strive endlessly, but to move in rhythms of nourishment, rest, and restoration.
That’s why this month we’re entering a 21-day journey focused on intentional care—care for the body, care for the heart, and care for the spirit.
This is not about perfection.
It’s about intention.
If you’ve been feeling tired, overwhelmed, or unsure, I want you to hear this clearly today:
You are not behind.
You are not forgotten.
And you are not out of reach.
God is still speaking.
God is still guiding.
And God is still walking with you.
Sometimes the new thing God is doing doesn’t come from effort—but from rest.
🙏🏼CLOSING PRAYER
Heavenly Father,
We thank You for being the Author of our lives and the Designer of our bodies.
Thank You for doing a new thing in this season and inviting us to perceive it.
Teach us how to listen—to You, to our bodies, and to the rhythms You created for healing and restoration.
Release us from pressure, guilt, and striving.
Help us walk in wisdom, grace, and discernment as we care for what You have entrusted to us.
We Pray all of this in Jesus’ name,
Amen.
✨OUTRO
Thank you for spending these few moments with me today.

🌿Healthy Swaps Reflection: Becoming Aware, Choosing Better, Feeling Better
Healthy Swaps Reflection
A simple tool to help you notice what’s hidden and choose what supports your peace, health, and energy.
1. WHAT TO LOOK FOR IN YOUR FOOD
A. Hidden Added Sugar
Look for “Added Sugar” on the label.
Your goal: 0g most of the time
Occasionally: 1–2g max
Common surprising sources:
• Yogurt
• Granola
• Sauces
• Bread
• Coffee creamers
• “Healthy” snacks
Reflection:
What foods do I eat often that may contain hidden sugars?
B. Hidden Sodium
High sodium leads to swelling, inflammation, headaches, fatigue.
Watch out for:
• Frozen meals
• Canned soups
• Restaurant food
• Chips and crackers
• Seasoned rice or noodle packets
• Salad dressings
Goal: Choose items closer to 250–400mg per serving, rather than 800–1500mg.
Reflection:
Which foods in my pantry have more sodium than I realized?
2. EASY HEALTHY SWAPS
Swap Ideas
• White rice ➜ brown rice or quinoa
• White grits ➜ yellow grits/polenta
• Heavy dressings ➜ olive oil + lemon
• Sugary yogurt ➜ plain yogurt + fruit
• Frozen entrees ➜ frozen veggies + protein
• Soda ➜ flavored sparkling water
• Fast food ➜ Whole Foods hot/cold bar (fresh, clean options)
Reflection:
Which swap feels easiest to start with this week?
3. TEMPLE CARE ON THE GO
When life is busy, choose places where:
Food is fresh
Ingredients are simple
You control the portions
You avoid excess sugar/oil/salt
Examples include:
• Whole Foods hot bar
• Salad bars
• Fresh groceries + rotisserie-style veggies
• Build-your-own bowl spots
Reflection:
What is one on-the-go option near me that supports my health?
4. QUESTIONS FOR YOUR HEART
Ask yourself gently:
• How do certain foods make me feel afterward?
• Where do I notice God nudging me toward better choices?
• What small change could bring me more energy tomorrow?
• Am I honoring the temple He gave me with my choices today?
5. PRAYER FOR HEALTH & WISDOM
“Lord, help me see my body as Your temple.
Give me wisdom as I choose what nourishes me.
Guide my heart, my habits, and my healing.
Help me take small steps each day toward greater health and peace.
Thank You for strengthening me, mind, body, and spirit. Amen.”
