Prayers Over Our Children & Over Us All!
💛Prayer — Our Children Are Precious in God’s Sight
FROM THE SCRIPTURE/PRAYER SERIES 1 OF 7
🙏🏼Gracious LORD,
Thank You for every child You have lovingly created and entrusted to our families and communities. Thank You that every one of our children is precious in Your sight. Whether they are entering daycare for the first time, returning to elementary or high school, beginning another semester of college, or already grown and building lives and families of their own, they are never outside of Your sight, Your knowledge, or Your care.
As our children leave our presence and enter places where we cannot follow, help us remember that You are already there.
You see every classroom.
You see every hallway.
You see every playground.
You see every bus ride and car ride.
You see every campus.
You see every friendship and every interaction.
You see what happens when no parent, grandparent, guardian, teacher, or caregiver is watching.
LORD, watch over our children.
Surround them with people who will treat them with kindness, dignity, patience, and respect. Place trustworthy adults around them who will recognize when something is wrong and have the wisdom and courage to respond appropriately.
Protect our children from people who would intentionally harm, mistreat, manipulate, bully, exploit, or take advantage of them.
Give our children discernment when something does not feel right. Teach them that they can speak up. Teach them that they can walk away. Teach them that they can seek help. Help them recognize trustworthy adults and give them courage to tell someone when they are frightened, uncomfortable, confused, threatened, or hurt.
And LORD, help us to listen.
May we never become so busy that our children believe we do not have time to hear them. Help us notice changes in their behavior, their attitudes, their emotions, and even in the things they stop saying. Give us wisdom to ask questions without creating fear and to create homes and relationships where our children know they can come to us.
When we cannot physically be beside them, calm our hearts with the assurance that they have never left Your presence.
Teach our children from an early age to call upon You for themselves. Let them know that wherever they are, they can pray:
“God, You are with me. Please help me. Please guide me. Please show me what to do.”
May that truth become deeply rooted within them:
Even when the people who love me cannot be with me, God is always with me.
Thank You for seeing our children.
Thank You for knowing our children.
Thank You for loving our children even more perfectly than we ever could.
We entrust our little ones and our big ones into Your capable hands.

💛Prayer — The LORD Is Our Children’s Safe Place
FROM THE SCRIPTURE/ PRAYER SERIES 2 OF 7
🙏🏼Mighty LORD,
Thank You for being our strong fortress and our place of refuge. Thank You that wherever our children go, they can call upon Your name.
As they begin and continue this school year, teach them that when they feel afraid, overwhelmed, uncertain, lonely, pressured, or anxious, they can run to You.
They may not always be able to reach us immediately.
We may not always know that something has happened.
We may not see the moment when fear enters their thoughts.
But You are there.
LORD, help our children learn that prayer does not require a particular place or a long speech. They can whisper Your name while sitting at a desk. They can pray silently while walking through a hallway. They can call upon You while riding the bus, sitting in the cafeteria, entering a new classroom, taking a test, meeting new people, or facing an uncomfortable situation.
Teach them to pray:
“LORD, You are my safe place. Help me.”
“LORD, give me wisdom.”
“LORD, calm my heart.”
“LORD, show me what to do.”
“LORD, help me make the right decision.”
Let our children understand that trusting You does not mean remaining silent when they need help. Give them wisdom to know when to seek a teacher, counselor, administrator, parent, caregiver, law-enforcement officer, or another trustworthy adult.
Give them courage to speak.
Give them discernment to recognize danger.
Give them wisdom to make safe choices.
Give them confidence to walk away from situations they know are wrong.
And when fear tries to overwhelm them, remind them that fear does not have to control their decisions.
LORD, be their strong fortress.
And be ours too.
When our minds begin imagining everything that could happen while our children are beyond our sight, bring us back to the truth of who You are. Help us replace anxious thoughts with prayer and responsible concern with confident trust.
We will continue doing our part as parents, grandparents, guardians, caregivers, teachers, family members, and people who love these children.
And after we have done what we can do, we entrust what we cannot control to You.
Go with our children.
Guide them.
Give them wisdom.
Surround them with trustworthy people.
And continually remind them that wherever they are, Your name is a strong fortress, and they can always run to You.

💛Prayer — Guard Our Children Against What Comes Against Them
FROM Scripture Prayer Series 3 of 7
🙏🏼Powerful LORD,
We bring our children before You today, trusting not in our own ability to protect them from everything, but in Your wisdom, sovereignty, presence, and power.
You know every challenge they will face before we ever hear about it.
You know the words that will be spoken to them and about them.
You know the pressures they will encounter.
You know the friendships they will form.
You know the temptations they will face.
You know every environment they will enter.
And You know every battle that may attempt to reach their hearts and minds.
LORD, guard our children.
Protect them from violence and intentional harm. Protect them from bullying, intimidation, manipulation, destructive peer pressure, and relationships designed to pull them away from what is right.
Guard their minds against words intended to destroy their confidence or distort their identity.
When someone says something cruel, remind our children that another person’s words do not determine who they are.
When someone falsely accuses them, give them wisdom and help truth come to light.
When they experience rejection, remind them that rejection does not diminish their value.
When they are pressured to compromise, give them courage to stand.
And LORD, protect them not only from what others may do, but also from choices within their own hearts that could lead them toward harm. Give them wisdom before they act, discernment before they follow, and conviction when they are tempted to participate in something they know is wrong.
Teach our children that Your protection does not mean they should ignore danger. Give them wisdom to leave unsafe situations, report threats, seek trustworthy help, and tell us when something has happened.
And give us discernment concerning our children.
Show us when something requires prayer alone and when prayer must be accompanied by immediate action.
We will pray, and we will pay attention.
We will trust You, and we will remain involved.
We will teach our children faith, and we will also teach them wisdom.
When circumstances arise that we could never have anticipated, remind us that You are not surprised.
Cover our children with Your peace.
Strengthen their minds.
Guard their hearts.
Direct their steps.
And when something comes against them, help them remember:
“I belong to God. I can call upon Him. I can ask for help. I do not have to face this alone.”
We place every child represented by those praying these prayers into Your hands, trusting You to guide us as we faithfully care for them.

💛Prayer — Our Children Do Not Have to Live in Fear
FROM THE SCRIPTURE/PRAYER SERIES 4 OF 7
🙏🏼Powerful LORD,
Thank You that fear does not have to control our children.
As they enter classrooms, schools, daycares, campuses, new environments, and unfamiliar situations, remind them that they can depend upon You when they feel afraid.
Some of our children may be excited about what lies ahead.
Some may be nervous.
Some may be entering school for the very first time.
Some may be returning after having a difficult experience previously.
Some may be concerned about making friends, fitting in, completing their work, meeting new teachers, changing schools, being separated from family, or simply facing something unfamiliar.
And some of our children may carry fears they have never spoken aloud.
LORD, You know every one of them.
When fear begins speaking loudly in their minds, remind them of Your truth.
You have not given them a spirit of fear.
Fill them with courage that comes from knowing You are present.
Give them power to make right choices even when others pressure them to do otherwise.
Fill their hearts with love so that they treat others with kindness and compassion.
Give them sound minds so that fear, panic, confusion, and anxiety do not control their thinking or their decisions.
Help our children understand that courage does not mean they will never feel afraid. Courage means they can recognize fear without allowing fear to become their leader.
Teach them that when fear comes, they can pray:
“God, I am afraid right now, but I know You are with me.”
“Give me courage.”
“Help me think clearly.”
“Show me what to do.”
“Help me remember that I am not alone.”
Give them the courage to speak when something is wrong.
Give them the courage to ask questions when they do not understand.
Give them the courage to seek help when they need it.
Give them the courage to say no when someone pressures them toward something harmful or sinful.
Give them the courage to stand for what is right even when they are standing alone.
And LORD, guard our minds from fear as well.
When our children walk away from us and we can no longer see them, keep our imaginations from carrying us into fearful possibilities.
Give us wisdom without panic.
Awareness without constant anxiety.
Discernment without suspicion of everything and everyone.
And responsible concern that remains anchored in faith.
Help us remember that the God we are teaching our children to trust is the same God we must trust with them.
May our homes become places where our children can openly talk about their fears without embarrassment or shame. Help us listen carefully, respond wisely, pray with them, and seek additional help whenever it is needed.
May Your power strengthen them.
May Your love surround them.
May the soundness of mind You provide help them think clearly and make wise decisions.
And whenever fear comes, may they remember:
“Fear does not have to control me. God is with me, and I can call upon Him.”

💛Prayer — God Is Our Children’s Rock, Shield, and Refuge
FROM THE SCRIPTURE/PRAYER SERIES 5 OF 7
🙏🏼Faithful LORD,
You are our Rock.
You are our Shield.
You are our Refuge.
You are our place of safety.
And today we declare these truths as we pray over our children.
We cannot become their shield against everything they will encounter.
We cannot stand physically between them and every difficulty.
We cannot prevent every hurtful word.
We cannot foresee every dangerous situation.
We cannot accompany them into every classroom, hallway, restroom, playground, cafeteria, school bus, athletic field, daycare, college campus, workplace, or gathering.
But You can be with them everywhere.
So LORD, when our children are beyond our physical reach, remind us that they are never beyond Yours.
Be their Rock when circumstances around them feel unstable.
Be their Refuge when they feel overwhelmed.
Be their Shield when danger approaches.
Be their source of wisdom when they need to make a quick decision.
Be their peace when something frightens them.
Be their strength when they feel vulnerable.
And teach our children to call upon You.
Let prayer become so familiar to them that turning toward You becomes one of their first responses rather than their last resort.
Teach even our youngest children that they do not need complicated words.
They can simply pray:
“Jesus, help me.”
“God, protect me.”
“LORD, show me what to do.”
“God, I need You.”
And You hear them.
LORD, we especially pray for protection from violence.
Protect our children in their schools and communities.
Give administrators, teachers, counselors, childcare providers, campus personnel, security personnel, and others responsible for children’s safety wisdom, discernment, alertness, and courage.
Allow concerning behavior to be recognized.
Allow threats to be taken seriously.
Allow appropriate intervention to occur before harm is done.
Give our children wisdom concerning what they see and hear. If they become aware of threats, weapons, dangerous behavior, bullying, abuse, or anything that could place themselves or someone else in danger, give them courage to tell a trustworthy adult immediately.
Teach them that speaking up about danger is not betrayal—it can be an act of wisdom, courage, and love.
And while we pray for protection, keep us from allowing fear to consume our own lives.
Our confidence is not in our ability to control every circumstance.
Our confidence is in You.
We will remain watchful.
We will remain involved.
We will teach our children wisdom.
We will listen.
We will respond when action is necessary.
And through all of it, we will continue calling upon the LORD who is worthy of our praise.
You are our Rock.
You are our Refuge.
You are our Shield.
And we entrust our children into Your loving and capable hands.

💛Prayer — LORD, Bless Our Children, Keep Them, and Give Them Peace
FROM THE SCRIPTURE/PRAYER SERIES 6 OF 7
🙏🏼Gracious LORD,
Today we speak Your blessing over our children.
Our little ones.
Our teenagers.
Our young adults.
Our grown children.
Our grandchildren.
And every child represented by every person praying alongside us.
LORD, bless them and protect them.
As they leave home each day, go with them.
As they enter classrooms, go with them.
As they ride buses and travel roads, go with them.
As they walk across college campuses, go with them.
As they enter workplaces, athletic practices, activities, and unfamiliar environments, go with them.
Wherever their feet travel, remind them that Your presence is already there.
Be gracious to them.
When they make mistakes, help them learn and grow.
When they become frustrated, give them patience.
When they experience disappointment, strengthen their hearts.
When they struggle academically, give them perseverance and connect them with people who can help.
When friendships become difficult, give them wisdom.
When they feel excluded, remind them of their value.
When they succeed, keep them humble and grateful.
When they see another child struggling, give them compassionate hearts that are willing to show kindness.
Give them Your peace.
Peace when they walk into a new classroom.
Peace when they separate from us.
Peace before a test.
Peace during a difficult conversation.
Peace when they have to make a decision.
Peace when something unexpected happens.
Peace when they do not understand.
Peace when they are waiting.
Peace when circumstances around them are not peaceful.
Let Your peace guard their hearts and minds.
And LORD, give that same peace to those of us who love them.
Some parents and caregivers will walk away from a daycare or school with tears in their eyes.
Some will watch a child board a bus for the first time.
Some will send a teenager into high school and wonder where the years went.
Some will leave a son or daughter on a college campus and drive home without them.
Some of us have grown children whose daily lives we no longer oversee at all.
Whatever season we are in, remind us:
They may leave our sight, but they never leave Yours.
Give us peace when we have done everything that belongs to us and must entrust the rest to You.
And help us send our children into each day knowing they are loved.
Let them hear us say it.
Let them see it in our actions.
Let them experience it in our patience.
Let them know that home is a place where they can talk, ask questions, admit mistakes, celebrate victories, express fears, and receive prayer.
Before they walk out the door, may we speak life over them.
May we remind them:
The LORD bless you.
The LORD keep you.
The LORD be gracious to you.
The LORD give you peace.
And when we cannot physically go where they are going, may we confidently entrust them to the One who can.
We place our little ones and our big ones into Your hands again today.
Bless them.
Keep them.
Guide them.
Strengthen them.
Give them wisdom.
Surround them with Your peace.
And help them grow into young people and adults who know You, trust You, call upon You, and understand for themselves that wherever life takes them, You are always with them.

After everything we have prayed, we come before You once more with grateful hearts.
Thank You for every child represented through these prayers.

Thank You for our grandchildren.
Thank You for the children we gave birth to, the children we adopted, the children we foster, the children we teach, the children we mentor, the children we care for, and the children You have simply placed within our lives and called us to love.
Every one of them is known by You.
And LORD, thank You for reminding us that we are known by You too.

Watch over our coming and our going.
Give us wisdom to make decisions that honor You.
Give us discernment when something requires our attention.
Give us courage when we need to speak.
Give us restraint when we need to wait.
Give us strength when responsibilities become heavy.
Give us peace when our minds begin moving toward fear.
Help us recognize the difference between Your prompting and our anxiety.
Teach us to pray before we panic.
Teach us to seek Your wisdom before we assume.
Teach us to listen carefully to our children.
Teach us to create environments where they feel safe telling us the truth.
Teach us when to step forward and when to release something completely into Your hands.
LORD, watch over our families.
Watch over our homes.
Watch over our schools.
Watch over our teachers and school personnel.
Watch over our communities.
Watch over those traveling to and from school, daycare, college, work, activities, and wherever their daily responsibilities take them.
Give wisdom to everyone entrusted with caring for children.
Give us eyes to recognize when a child needs help.
Give us ears willing to listen.
Give us hearts filled with compassion.
And give us courage to act when action is necessary.
Most importantly, help us teach our children that You are not merely the God their parents or grandparents pray to.
You invite them to know You.
Teach them to seek You.
Teach them to talk with You.
Teach them to love Your Word.
Teach them to recognize Your voice through Scripture.
Teach them to trust Your character.
Teach them to call upon Your name.
Teach them that they are never too young to pray and never too old to need You.
When they are afraid, remind them that You are there.
When they are anxious, guard their hearts with Your peace.
When they are confused, give them wisdom.
When they are pressured, strengthen them to stand for what is right.
When they make mistakes, teach them to come honestly before You, receive correction, and grow.
When they experience success, teach them gratitude and humility.
When they encounter someone who is hurting, make them compassionate.
When they see something wrong, give them courage to seek appropriate help.
When they feel alone, remind them of Your presence.
And LORD, when we feel afraid for them, remind us of that same truth:
You are present.
We acknowledge that we cannot promise our children a life without difficulty.
We cannot guarantee that every day will be easy.
We cannot guarantee that every person they meet will treat them well.
We cannot guarantee that they will never experience disappointment, hurt, conflict, temptation, loss, or fear.
But we can continually point them toward the One who will remain faithful through every season of their lives.
May Your Word become deeply rooted within them.
May the prayers we pray over them become prayers they eventually learn to pray for themselves.
May our children grow to know You, love You, trust You, obey You, and depend upon You—not merely because we told them to, but because they have developed their own relationship with You.
And as generations continue after us, may they teach their children to do the same.
What begins as a parent praying over a child today can become a legacy of faith carried through generations.
So we release our little ones and our big ones into Your hands again.
And we place ourselves there too.
Watch over us when we come.
Watch over us when we go.
Watch over us when we are together.
Watch over us when we are apart.
Watch over us today.
Watch over us tomorrow.
And help us continually remember that wherever any of us may go, we can never travel beyond Your presence.
Our confidence is not that we can always be with our children.
Our confidence is that You can.

Awesome God,
Thank You for who You are.
Thank You for the blessed gift of another day and for another day’s journey with You, by You, and for You.

Thank You for being our refuge and our strength.
Your Word tells us that You are always ready to help us in times of trouble, and we stand confidently on Your Word today.
Thank You that when difficulties, challenges, and unexpected circumstances come, we do not have to live in fear.

Heavenly Father,

As we prepare for this 21-day TempleCare Clean Eating Challenge, give us discipline, wisdom, and grace.
Help us see food as a gift, not a god.
Help us choose what nourishes our energy, clarity, and peace.
Strengthen those who feel discouraged in their health.

We hold onto offenses—not because we want to, but because we’re afraid.
Afraid of being overlooked again.
Afraid of being dismissed.
Afraid of losing people we believe we need to survive.
But when God becomes our source, something shifts.
We no longer need people to fill what God has already healed.
And because of that, we don’t cling to wounds as proof of love.
We don’t weaponize memory.
We don’t withhold forgiveness as protection.

Last night, we learned that when God makes us whole, we don’t hold grudges like a scoreboard—we learn how to forgive from peace, not fear.
Tonight, we build on that with this truth:
Forgiveness protects love… and faithfulness protects friendship. It is not selfish, harmful nor destructive.
A real friend doesn’t only show up when it’s easy, exciting, or convenient. A true friend can be steady—especially when life gets messy. Not perfect.
Not always available. But consistent in heart, and consistent in honor.
And here’s something else that matters:
Faithfulness isn’t something you force. It’s something that grows when your heart is aligned with God.
When you’re secure in Him, you don’t disappear when people disappoint you. You learn how to stay honest, stay kind, and stay real.

Last night, we learned that true friendship isn’t built on convenience—it’s built on faithfulness!
Tonight, we build from that and talk about impact.
Because once someone is consistent in your life, the next question becomes:
Is their influence healing us… or draining us?
Scripture reminds us that the right friendship can refresh our soul—like incense and perfume—because it brings comfort, clarity, and joy.
Healthy friendships do not:
confuse our spirit
keep us anxious
pull us away from God
make us shrink to stay connected
The right friendships don’t replace God’s voice.
They reinforce it.

After being around certain people, do you feel more aligned… or more unraveled?

✝️Merciful God,
Thank You that You call us friend (John 15:15)! Help us to make an impact on Your Kingdom by and through our
walk with You! Oh God, may You refine our circles. Strengthen the friendships that bring peace, clarity, and life.
And remove influences that keep us in confusion. Make our friendships places of refreshment and healing. And
show us how to be a true friend from being deeply rooted and grounded in Your Word and in our faithful walk
with You!

Last night, we talked about the influence that heals.
Tonight, we go one step deeper: accountability.
Because the right friends don’t just comfort you… they also sharpen you.
🔑But here’s the key:
Sharpening should never feel like destruction.
Correction given in love produces growth—not shame.
Truth offered with humility strengthens you—it doesn’t humiliate you.
When God is the foundation, accountability becomes a gift.
You’re not afraid of it… because you’re not building your identity on people’s opinions.

Do you have friendships where truth can be spoken with love—and received with humility?

Amazing LORD,
May You give us humble hearts that can receive truth without defensiveness. Teach us how
to correct with gentleness and love. Heal places where accountability felt like shame. Make

🌈We’ve learned that God must be our source, forgiveness keeps love free, faithfulness builds trust, and accountability strengthens growth.
Now tonight we reach the heart of it:
✝Jesus defines friendship through sacrifice—not control.
💖True love does not manipulate.
It does not punish with silence.
It does not demand you prove yourself.
It gives with purity.
And sacrifice doesn’t always mean something dramatic. Sometimes it looks like:
listening when you’re tired👂🏽
praying instead of gossiping🙏🏽
choosing patience instead of pride😊
being present without needing credit😎

Because friendship should lift you… but it should not replace your responsibility—or replace God.
Healthy friends restore, encourage, and help you rise.
But they don’t keep you dependent.
They don’t become your “savior.”
And they don’t let you stay stuck.
Real friendship says:
“I’m with you… but I’m also going to point you back to God, and back to your strength.

Tonight, we build into discernment.
Because not every connection is meant to stay.
Relationships can shape our thinking, our habits, our confidence, and our direction.
Relationships can have a positive or negative influence in our lives which is why
we need to practice discernment.
Discernment is not judgment.
Discernment is wise stewardship.
And sometimes wisdom says:
“This person isn’t evil… but this connection isn’t aligned.”
We’re allowed to protect what God is building in us.

compassion, humility, patience, gentleness, and forgiveness.
And here’s the truth:
We can’t build lasting friendship while feeding irritability, pride, or offense.
But when we’re clothed in Christ, relationships can breathe again.

What “clothing” do people feel when they’re around us—peace, patience, and kindness… or tension and criticism?

Amazing God,
Clothe us in compassion and humility. Teach us patience, gentleness, and forgiveness.

🌈We’ve built from source, to forgiveness, to faithfulness, to influence, to accountability, to love, to support,
to discernment, to character…
Tonight, we arrive at restoration.
Job’s life began to shift when his heart was aligned—when pride and pain didn’t get the final word.
And Scripture shows that restoration and relationship are connected.
God uses healthy friendship as part of healing when:
hearts are humble
love is pure
character is real
and God is still the center
True friendship becomes a place where:
you don’t have to pretend,
you don’t have to perform,
and you don’t have to be perfect to be loved well

📖Romans 12:10 — “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”
🙏🏽Prayer:
Amazing God,
Thank You for being our Source and our Restorer. Thank You for the gift of friendship. May we always
seek to align our heart with Yours and guide us towards friendships that are in line with Your Will
for us. For the friendship bonds that have been broken, if it is Your Will, may You guide us towards
reconciliation and restore our bond in a way that glorifies You. May You give us wisdom and courage
to approach one another with love, patience, and grace, and help us to speak and listen with Your heart!
