💞Honoring September 11, 2001: Remembering Through Love, Service, and Good Deeds
💞🙏🏼 Good, Blessed, Encouraging Mondays, Family, Friends, and New Encouragers!
💛 On September 11, 2001, our nation experienced a tragedy that forever changed countless lives. Nearly 3,000 precious lives were lost in the attacks at the World Trade Center in New York City, at the Pentagon, and aboard Flight 93 near Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Among those lives were mothers and fathers, husbands and wives, sons and daughters, friends and coworkers, along with first responders who courageously answered the call to help others.
💛 Years later, we continue to honor every precious life that was lost. For families who lost someone they loved, the passing of years does not erase that love or the memories they carry. And even for those of us who did not personally lose someone that day, 9/11 can still bring tremendous emotion. Some moments touch the human heart far beyond the people who experienced them firsthand.
💛 One meaningful way people now commemorate September 11 is through 9/11 Day, the National Day of Service and Remembrance. The idea is simple but powerful: we can honor lives lost by doing something good for someone else. Acts of service, compassion, generosity, encouragement, and kindness allow remembrance to become action. The organization behind 9/11 Day grew from a desire to make the anniversary about more than grief—to encourage people to honor those lost by helping one another.
💛 A good deed does not have to be large. We can check on someone who is alone, help a neighbor, donate food, encourage someone who is struggling, serve in our community, support a first responder, help a family in need, or simply offer kindness where kindness is needed. People helping people. Love put into action.
💛 As we commemorate September 11, may we respectfully honor the precious lives that were lost. May we remember the courage of those who helped others, hold grieving families close in our hearts and prayers, and allow compassion to influence how we treat one another today.
And perhaps that is one beautiful way to carry remembrance forward:
Honor. Serve. Give. Encourage. Lift others. Make a difference.

💖 Respectfully Honoring the Precious Lives Lost on September 11, 2001
By Shawna S.
We remember the morning the whole world stood still,
The lives that were taken, the hearts grieving still.
The mothers and fathers who never came home,
The families left learning to journey alone.
We remember the brave who ran toward the flame,
Not seeking attention, not seeking a name.
Firefighters, officers, neighbors stood strong,
Helping and serving when everything went wrong.
We remember the towers, the Pentagon too,
And Flight 93, where great courage shone through.
So many lives sacred, so much taken away,
Still carried in hearts to this very day.
And as we still grieve when 9/11 draws near,
May God hold us closely through memories and tears.
May comfort surround us when sorrow feels deep,
And may precious memories be ours still to keep.
And as we honor them, may kindness be shown,
Through service and compassion in ways of our own.
A good deed, a helping hand, love put in motion,
A tribute expressed through sincere devotion.
We remember the fallen.
We honor the brave.
We cherish each life and the love that they gave.
And year after year, when 9/11 draws near,
We honor their lives, forever held dear.
