šEncouraging Mondays: Strength Through Dependence
šš¼š Good, Blessed Encouraging Mondays, Family, Friends & New Encouragers!
š Todayās message is entitled:
āStrength Through Dependenceā
š SCRIPTURE READING ā (NLT)
Philippians 4:13
āFor I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.ā
š ENCOURAGING MONDAYS REFLECTION
āNot Me Aloneā
Familyā¦
God is inviting us to shift how we think about strength.
Many of us have learnedāwhether directly or indirectlyāthat strength means handling things on our own. Figuring it out. Holding it together. Not needing help.
But this is not the strength that God is talking about.
This is not about perfection. This is about dependence.
The Lord is gently reminding us that we were never designed to carry life by ourselves.
And yet, many of us try.
We try to manage our responsibilities, our emotions, our decisions, and even our struggles⦠without inviting God into the process.
Not because we donāt believe in Himābut because weāve grown used to relying on ourselves.
šš¼šš¼š Godās presence brings a strength that is different.
It is not forced. It is not pressured. It is received.
And sometimes, dependence on God looks like very real, everyday moments:
When you feel overwhelmed and instead of pushing through silently, you pause and say,āLord, I need Your help with this.ā
When youāre trying to make a decision and instead of rushing, you stop and ask,āGod, guide me in this.ā
When your emotions feel heavy and instead of shutting down, you bring it honestly before Him.
This is not weakness.
This is alignment.
Because the truth is:
If we only rely on ourselves, we will eventually feel the weight of everything weāre carrying.
But when we depend on God, we are no longer carrying it alone.
And that is where His strength meets us.
š ENCOURAGING THOUGHT FOR TODAY
If youāve been feeling:
⢠overwhelmed by responsibility⢠mentally or emotionally exhausted⢠like you have to figure everything out on your own
Pause and remember:
You are not expected to carry this alone. You are not required to have all the answers. You are not without help.
God is still speaking. God is still drawing. God is still walking with you.
And He is inviting you to depend on Him.
š ENCOURAGING ACTION
So, what does that look like in real life?
How do you actually depend on God throughout your day?
Start simple. Start where you are.
When something feels overwhelmingāPause and say quietly:āLord, I need Your help right now.ā
When youāre trying to make a decisionāInstead of rushing, pause and say:āGod, guide me. Show me whatās right.ā
When your emotions feel heavy or you feel frustratedāBe honest in that moment:āLord, this is how Iām feeling. Help me respond the right way.ā
When you feel tired of carrying everythingāRelease it right there:āGod, I give this to You. I donāt want to carry this alone.ā
You donāt have to wait for the āright timeā to pray.
You can talk to God:
⢠in your car⢠at your desk⢠in the grocery store⢠in the middle of your day
Dependence is not about long, perfect prayers.
Itās about real, honest connectionāmoment by moment.
And every time you pause and invite Him inā¦
you are depending on Him.
š TEMPLE CARE CHECK-IN
This journey is not about guilt or extremes. Itās about awareness, stewardship, and grace.
You may be:
⢠consistent⢠restarting⢠adjusting⢠learning⢠observing
And all of it still counts.
This week, letās connect dependence to how we care for our bodies.
Choose ONE intentional moment each day to pause instead of pushing:
⢠Before your first drink of the day, pause and take a breath⢠Before reacting to stress, pause for 10 seconds⢠Before continuing when you feel tired, pause and check in with your body
In that pause, simply say:
āLord, I need Your strength right here.ā
This is not about doing more.
Itās about learning to stop and receive.
šš¼ CLOSING PRAYER
LORD,
Thank You for Your presence, Your patience, and Your light.
Bring our hearts into alignment with You.Shine on every place that needs clarity, healing, and renewal.
Teach us how to depend on Youānot just in big moments, but in everyday life.
When we feel overwhelmed, remind us to pause. When we feel pressured, remind us we are not alone. When we feel tired, remind us that Your strength is available to us.
Help us walk honestly,
live intentionally and rest confidently in You.
Cleanse us.
Guide us.
Renew us.
In Jesusā powerful, majestic name, we praise and pray,
Amen.
šš¼ DAILY PROCLAMATION
Before we close, I want to invite youāonly if you feel ledāto say a daily proclamation with me.
This is the proclamation I return to daily. Not out of perfection, but out of surrender.
From Survival to Surrender ā My Daily Proclamation
God, today I stop negotiating with You.I stop hiding parts of my life behind excuses, wounds, and fear.I stop managing sin instead of surrendering it.I stop calling survival āstrengthā when it is really exhaustion.
I release every attachment that feels good but pulls me away from truth.I let go of relationships, habits, and cycles that soothe me temporarily but cost me spiritually.I acknowledge what I already know:what does not align with You cannot heal me.
Today, I surrender control.I surrender comfort.I surrender timing.I surrender the false intimacy Iāve used to avoid true wholeness.
I choose alignment over appetite.Obedience over urgency.Healing over hiding.
God, I no longer want to survive ā I want to live whole.I invite You into every area Iāve kept guarded, delayed, or divided.Lead my life.Heal my heart.Reorder my desires.
From this moment forward, I choose surrender ā
not because I am weak,
but because You are strong.
In Jesusā name, Amen.
